Level 2 NVQ in Plastering – Course Overview

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering is a workplace-based qualification for people who are already carrying out plastering work and want their skills formally recognised.

It is designed for plasterers who want a recognised qualification that demonstrates their practical skills and competence without having to leave work to attend regular college classes.

The qualification covers plastering skills and working practices, with the units you complete depending on your chosen pathway and the work you carry out on site.

Assessment takes place through your normal working activities. You will provide evidence of your plastering work, supported by workplace observations and guidance from your assessor.

You will need access to suitable plastering projects so you can demonstrate the skills required for the qualification.

Completing the appropriate Level 2 qualification can support your application for a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker card, subject to meeting the current CSCS requirements for your occupation.

  • Photographs and videos: Recording examples of your completed work and the tasks you carry out.
  • Workplace documents: Reviewing relevant job plans, risk assessments or method statements where appropriate.
