On-Site Roofing NVQs for Experienced Roofers

If you already work in roofing, a roofing NVQ gives you recognised proof of the skills and experience you use on site. Train 4 Growth offers workplace-based qualifications covering roofing occupations, waterproof membrane systems and other relevant areas of roof installation.

Assessment is based on the work you already carry out, so there is no need to leave your job to attend college. Your assessor will use evidence from real roofing projects, workplace observations and professional discussions to assess your competence.

Depending on your occupation and experience, you may be able to complete a Level 2 or Level 3 roofing NVQ and use the qualification towards the appropriate CSCS card for your role.

Roofing NVQ Levels and Qualifications Available

The right roofing qualification depends on the type of work you carry out and the level you are already working at.

Level 2 NVQ in Roofing Occupations
Suitable for experienced roofers working in occupations such as roof slating and tiling. Relevant Level 2 Roofing Occupations pathways are accepted for Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card occupations including Roof Slater, Roof Tiler and Roof Slater and Tiler.

Level 3 NVQ in Roofing Occupations
Designed for experienced roofers working at a more advanced craft level. Depending on the occupation and pathway, an appropriate Level 3 qualification can support progression to the Gold CSCS Advanced Craft Card.

Level 2 NVQ in Waterproof Membrane Roofing Systems
For roofers working with specialist waterproofing systems such as reinforced bitumen, liquid-applied or single-ply membrane roofing, depending on the pathway available.

Level 2 NVQ Installation of Photovoltaic Panels
For people carrying out solar PV installation work who need a recognised workplace-based qualification for the work they already perform.
