Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery NVQ – Course Overview
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery (Construction) is a workplace-based qualification for people who are already carrying out carpentry or joinery work and want their skills formally recognised.
It is designed for experienced tradespeople who want to demonstrate their practical skills and competence without leaving work to attend regular college classes.
The qualification covers safe working practices and practical carpentry and joinery skills. The units you complete will depend on your chosen pathway and the type of work you carry out.
Assessment is based on your normal working activities, supported by workplace observations, evidence of completed work and discussions with your assessor.
You will need access to suitable carpentry or joinery projects so you can demonstrate the skills required for your qualification.
Completing the appropriate Level 2 qualification can support your application for a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker card, subject to meeting the current CSCS requirements for your occupation.
Your assessor will explain what evidence you need and support you throughout the qualification.
