  • Hold a relevant construction management or technical NVQ/SVQ at the required level

There are no formal academic entry requirements for the Level 7 NVQ in Construction Senior Management.

What Are the CIOB N/SVQ Pathway Requirements?

To use this pathway, CIOB currently requires you to:

  • Have at least three years of construction management experience
  • Hold a Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management
  • Have been awarded the qualification within the previous three years
  • Have been assessed by someone who was MCIOB or FCIOB at the time of your NVQ assessment

This is important for candidates who plan to use the CIOB N/SVQ pathway, as CIOB requires the NVQ assessor to have been MCIOB or FCIOB at the time of assessment.

Does the Level 7 NVQ Automatically Make Me MCIOB?

No. Completing the NVQ does not automatically give you Chartered Membership.

What Does MCIOB Mean?

Successful Chartered Members can use the MCIOB letters after their name and the designation Chartered Construction Manager or Chartered Builder.

It provides professional recognition of your construction management experience and competence and can support progression into senior leadership, management and consultancy roles.
