Asbestos Awareness Training Course
IATP, IIRSM & CPD Approved
Asbestos is considered one of the most hazardous building materials ever used. Every year, thousands of individuals develop serious illnesses or die as a result of asbestos exposure, with the material being extensively used in construction up until the year 2000.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) apply to employers, employees, the self-employed, and duty holders, governing all work involving asbestos-containing materials. Regulation 10 of CAR requires employers to ensure that employees who may be exposed to asbestos receive appropriate information, instruction, and training. This includes maintenance staff and others who may come into contact with or disturb asbestos-containing materials.
This course not only highlights the dangers of working with asbestos but also helps candidates identify asbestos-containing materials, understand where it was commonly used, and learn practical steps to minimise risks. The course also covers the key legislation surrounding asbestos work.
Each module concludes with a series of multiple-choice questions. Candidates must achieve a 100% pass rate to successfully complete the course. They will have the chance to review their answers before final submission and will be given up to three attempts to meet the required standard.
