On-Site NVQs for Cladding and Façade Installers

Cladding and façade installation is a specialist part of the building envelope. Installers work with panels, insulation, fixings and support systems to create external walls that are safe, weather-tight and built to a high standard. These skills are in demand across housing, commercial and large-scale projects.

If you already work in cladding or façade installation and want to gain a recognised qualification, an on-site NVQ is the easiest route. There’s no classroom learning or written exams — everything is assessed while you carry out your normal work on site.

The NVQs below cover the core skills used across cladding, rainscreen systems and modern façade construction.

NVQ Options for Cladding and Façades

The Level 2 NVQ in Cladding Occupations suits installers who work with cladding panels, insulation, support rails and external envelope systems.

The Level 3 NVQ in Cladding Occupations is ideal for experienced installers who handle more complex systems, follow detailed drawings and support other team members on site.

Both NVQs are assessed through real work evidence, giving you a straightforward route to qualification and the Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
